Creating and Funding Gardens

A garden is your portfolio. You create one, fund it from your smart wallet, and then decide how it is managed. This page covers those first steps; how it is managed is covered in Index Gardens and Trading and Lending.

Creating a yield garden#

1. Open the Gardens section. Your existing gardens are listed.
2. Select Create Garden. The creation form appears.
3. Select the yield garden type and enter the required information.
4. Review the details, then select Create Garden.
5. Approve the transaction in your wallet.
6. The application submits the transaction and shows its status while it waits for confirmation.
7. Once confirmed, the garden metadata is saved and the garden appears in your list.
8. The application opens the new garden, ready for you to transfer assets in.

If creation fails. If the transaction is rejected or fails, the application shows the reason and the garden is not added to your active list. Close the message and try again.

Creating an index garden#

The flow is the same shape, started from the Index Gardens section:

1. Open Index Gardens. Existing index gardens are listed.
2. Select Create Garden and confirm the index garden type.
3. Enter the required information and review the details.
4. Confirm, then approve the transaction in your wallet.
5. The application submits the transaction and shows its status until confirmed.
6. The garden metadata is saved and the new index garden appears.

The difference is not the creation flow, it is what you can do afterwards: an index garden can be connected to an Index and rebalanced automatically.

The garden details screen#

Opening a garden loads its balance, holdings, transactions, and DeFi positions, then shows its performance. From there the available actions typically include:

• Transfer assets in or out
• Receive assets
• Swap tokens
• Supply to lending, or withdraw a lending position
• Withdraw USDC
• Connect an Index
• View performance
• Rename the garden, or copy its address

Transferring assets#

1. Open a garden and select Transfer.
2. Choose the direction, the token, and the amount.
3. The application validates the amount against your balance.
4. Review the details and confirm.
5. Approve the transaction in your wallet.
6. The application submits the transfer, shows its status, then refreshes the garden balance.

Receiving assets#

1. From the dashboard or a garden, select Receive.
2. The receiving address is displayed. Copy it, or use the QR code.
3. Send assets to that address.
4. Once the transaction confirms, the application detects the new balance and refreshes.

Receiving does not require a transaction from you inside the application, so there is nothing to approve. The balance simply updates once the incoming transfer confirms on chain.
